Our client had 10 columns that were only two years old but had significant water/sun damage. The client wanted the columns re-wrapped with a thicker look. We used S4S 5/4 x 10 cedar boards. With a fair bit of sanding, exterior wood glue, and birch biscuits, we achieved the look of a solid pole. In the spring, a light sand and a couple coats of weather proofing sealant will finish this job up nicely. Check out these before and after photos!

I like big posts and I cannot lie 🪵
This client wanted 10 posts re-wrapped in this nice cedar to add some bulk and weather resistance. The goal was to make it look as much like a full beam as possible with some precision woodwork. I can’t wait to share the finished product!
