It's Waterpark Build Wednesday, and we're highlighting a project that stands out in one of Florida's most competitive attraction markets.

Designed and built by ADG, Island H2O Live! was created to bring a fresh, innovative waterpark experience to Margaritaville Resort Orlando. From the 24,000-square-foot WaveTek®-powered wave pool and 1,300-foot lazy river to immersive theming and technology-driven guest experiences, every element was designed to help the park carve out its own identity and deliver memorable experiences for guests of all ages.

Situated on 12 acres, Island H2O Live! showcases how thoughtful design, strategic planning, and innovative attractions can transform a vision into an award-winning destination.

There’s nothing we love more than talking about designing and building aquatic venues... well, maybe other than actually designing and building them.

That’s why we were excited to sit down with WavePoolMag and share our perspective on what it really takes to create a successful surf destination. While wave technology often gets the spotlight, great projects are built around the entire guest experience, from operations and flow to amenities, business goals, and everything in between.

In this feature, ADG President Jim Dunn and Director of Sales & Marketing Julie Kline discuss why asking the right questions is just as important as choosing the right wave technology, the rise of compact surf park concepts, and how decades of aquatic design-build experience continue to shape the future of surf.

Check out the full article and learn why, for us, the wave is only one piece of the equation.

Surf is growing. Fast.

But bringing surf inland isn’t simple. Compared to the broader aquatics industry, surf is still new. There’s a limited pool of experience when it comes to designing, building, and operating these environments the right way.

That’s where ADG comes in. We’ve been at the forefront of aquatics from the beginning and have been part of the evolution into surf from day one. From concept and design to construction and operations, we understand what it takes to bring these venues to life across a range of markets, footprints, and guest experiences.

Surf isn’t one-size-fits-all. And building it right takes MUCH more than just some cool tech.

We sat down with our Director of Business Development, Specialty Construction, Ray Lauenstein, to talk pre-season park prep, and one thing stood out: it is the little things that get missed.

Not the big checklist items, but the small details that impact safety, operations, and the guest experience, like uneven paths, subtle equipment changes, or something as simple as tube PSI.

With hundreds of parks behind us, we have learned those small things often make the biggest difference, and we want to share those findings with you.
