Simple ideas that keep your home fresh and unique (decor, food, etc.) I'm also a full-time High School Business teacher and mommy to two little rascals.

In 2013 I created "The Unique Nest" - a blog for everything home, particularly the "3-D's": Decor, Design and DIY. On my blog you'll find trendy, fun, and simple ideas for home decor, food & spirits, product reviews, etc. In addition to the blog I run a small interior design business in upstate New York called "Laura Leigh Designs, LLC" where I help my clients re-create their spaces and decorate t

New year, new project! ✨ Vision board and floor plans complete for our basement makeover. Taking our hot mess basement to the next level (on a budget of course) with a modern feel and timeless black and white palette. Lots of fun ideas and a big wishlist - which will be a challenge but it’s going to be worth it! Work to be completed by and - - Stay tuned - step 1: organize, donate, declutter and get ready for framing. Can’t wait!!! 🤩

We NEVER decorate this early but from what I’m reading, we aren’t alone - - needing that feeling of festive and couldn’t pass up this deal. Flocked 6.5’ tree from (700+ tips) prelit and only $69!!! I may buy like three more 🤍🌲 - - cable knit blanket from for $29. Loving the look it gives our bedroom ✨
