Switching out an old tank to a high efficiency Rheem tankless condensing water heater today!

Called out for a yard leak. In the first picture you can see the copper fitting has a wide band of silver solder to the left. That can happen when it was initially soldered and the fitting slides off the pipe. We cut out the leaking section, cleaned up the end of the copper pipe and connected back with pex.

Previous tank heater was approaching the end of its life. On top of that the new home owner has a family of 8, so it had been quick showers for everyone!

After pulling out the tank we replaced it with a Navien 240S high efficiency condensing tankless heater. Took re-routing a couple pipes but we manage to get it all in a full days work!

They are also adding a door where all the knocked out sheetrock is so there was also some added space with the tankless. But biggest plus for them was no running out of heat!
