Here you see the hedge witch, in a tizzy, because it's going to storm tonight and she needed to close up the seedlings, and only remembered right before she fell asleep.

I was fighting a headache earlier and forgot. I blame caffeine withdrawal as I've been trying to cut back. And while I want to expose these guys to rain, the only rain we've been getting is catastrophic storms 😭 So I added another brick to the greenhouse, pat it and told it to be safe, and came back to bed 🤣

I might bring a couple in tomorrow as a safeguard 😅

Yesterday our future dinners came in! We ordered a 25 count, but they threw in an extra nugget 😆🥰

We're getting down to 39° on the 1st, after that we'll move them into the coop and they'll be fine with their heating pad 😊

Spring has SPRUNG! Which meant it was finally time to get rid of our extra turkeys. They were named Thanksgiving and Easter for a reason! Even though we've butchered chickens before, we've never done turkeys; they're a bit more than "bigger chickens" 😂

They were 8 month old Narrangansett toms, and gave us 15.4lb and 15.6lb of meat! Which is more than enough for our small family of 4 plus an honorary uncle at the holidays.

Meat birds 2.0 is a go! We did our first butcher last spring, with another round of unwanted DP roosters in the summer. We really appreciate being able to produce our own food, and to have control in how our animals are cared for before they nourish our family.

But first we gotta get our extra turkey toms butchered! Lol
