The Spruce designers say these designs are out - I'm not so sure about that. What do you guys think?

REVEAL DAY!!! Thanks for following along during our "Kitchen Lift" of Fern's kitchen. This project was great to do, our client was great to work with and, as always, our crew was incredible throughout the whole process. The matte coat is applied and the design accents are looking great, cascade went well and I think Tucker was actually impressed.

As we move forward in our project, we now have doors and drawers sprayed and ready for reassembly. The cabinet faces (and in this case) boxes have been sprayed and we'll begin putting this project back together.

The tape has been removed and the pour looks fantastic. Cascade went perfect. Another round of hurry up and wait, then we'll be able to put on the matte topcoat. Stay tuned.

We have poured the countertop. The sides are still taped up and the pour is complete. Now we get to hurry up and wait to pull the tape. Original sample board is here but once the renovation started, Fern decided that her new hardware upgrade would include new bronze pull handles. To complement this new addition, we added some bronze to the highlights to bring things together.

The backsplash is complete and we've installed it. While the AI rendering had the backsplash and the countertops matching, Fern decided she wanted some contrast between the two so we did a different pattern and used a gloss finish so it will be easy to clean. We are now ready and prepped for the countertop.

Welcome back to Fern's kitchen.

We've cut out the backsplash from 1/4 inch underlayment and have done the pour. This was done offsite due to space and controllability (in the studio we are able to control the environment, and it allows us time to do the artwork). Prior to the pour, we put together a couple AI renderings of her kitchen and made a couple sample boards to get the design just how Fern saw it in her head.
We have also stripped the doors and drawers down, fixed some minor issues, and prepped them for painting.

Disassembly day on Fern's kitchen. We removed the doors and drawers from the cabinets and took them off-site for sanding and prep. The color won't be decided until the countertop is poured, then we are able to pick a shade in the highlights. The backsplash of the countertop was removed, and we filled in the spaces left with wood slats and, my always fun friend, Bondo. While that dried, we leveled off the front lip of the countertop, removing that 80's counterbump that was so popular back then. Finally, we scuffed up the remaining countertop Formica and measured backsplash area to cut it's form out for pouring.
