People sometimes ask me “How did you learn to garden”.

My honest answer: I’ve killed a lot of plants in my decades of learning.

If you’ve killed a lot of plants, the trick to having a green thumb is to keep trying, try different varieties, experiment, and be ready to replace things. Eventually, you’re going to learn what plants will thrive and which will fail and differences in care. Gardening is so variable in different climates and soil types that it’s not something you can learn in a book.
