We had a blast yesterday at Seven Oaks Plant Shop and want to thank everyone for making this event a fun day. The local connections we made alone yesterday were priceless. We met a man who worked at Carter and Holmes Orchids even before Gene Crocker, a photographer who is hoping to feature our plant collection in a magazine this summer when we have a bunch blooming, and many more! We really appreciate how welcoming the community has been as we continue to establish the local presence of our business.
Now that this is over, I can release the worms I’ve been holding back. There will be an ENORMOUS drop of worms tomorrow. I really wanted to have some on display yesterday, so I’ve been holding out on y’all 😆. I was telling people that the only reason I had worms to display is because I had not put them on the site. I slowed down a bit in January and needed a post-holiday mental rest, but I am recharged and ready to roll. One of our wonderful customers got the be the very first owner of one of my new heart-shaped worms, which will make their debut in tomorrow’s update.
Yesterday was rough for me because the day before yesterday I (and only I) was struck with minor food poisoning… but even minor food poisoning is an ordeal and that queasy feeling had me up alllll night thursday, the night before I was supposed to do all of my show prep. I spent all of Friday trying to nurse myself back to health and eating bits of bland carbs because it was all I could stomach. The timing was impeccable… my body has a knack for that lol.
Thank goodness for Tony, who is an absolute rock star of a husband. He always says he could not do what he does without me, but I also equally have him to fall back on, and he is truly amazing in that regard.
Spring is on the horizon… we should be able to resume plant shipping soon, and we’ll do a big inventory refresh. I’m consistently pleasantly surprised at how well-received my aloes are at in-person events, so now that I know that, I’ll be sure to flat a bunch and also get them onto the site.
Thank you all for the many ways you bless our lives 🫶🏻
