It is with extreme sadness and the heaviest of hearts that we share the following news:
Grizzly Tkacik, 10, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday morning, November 12, 2025, after a courageous battle with lymphoma. He was surrounded by family.
Born July 3, 2015, Grizzly was a lifelong “employee” at L&M Greenhouse. He devoted his life to playing with rocks and balls, and could often be heard barking at his human friends to throw his chosen rock for him to fetch. His favorite time of year was during the spring greenhouse season when all of his beloved patrons were there to listen to his barking and throw his rocks. He loved being with his work crew, following tractors and riding on farm wagons.
Grizzly prided himself as a great protector, alerting his humans when mail or packages were being delivered, a car came down the driveway, or a leaf dared blow across his lawn.
He will be remembered for his energetic, playful and fiery personality. Grizzly was truly a forever puppy.
Grizzly was preceded in death by his fur brothers Bear, Max and Tomcat. He is survived by his mom, pack leader and most protected human Amanda; dad Jimmy, brother James; pappy Dave; gigi Renee; uncles Eric (Lyndsay) & Andrew (Renee); his best buddy Jeff, and many L&M family members & friends. Grizzly also leaves behind his fur brothers Kodi, Ollie and Charlie, who will mourn him deeply and miss him beyond words.
We want to express a special thank you to Fairfield Animal Hospital for taking the best care of Grizzly not only during this difficult time, but throughout the entirety of his life. We are additionally extremely grateful for BluePearl Pittsburgh Pet Hospitals Oncology, in particular Dr. Rebecca Newman and her amazing team, for the superior care and treatment given to Grizzly over these past several months.
In lieu of flowers, please share with us your favorite memory of Grizzly and give your furry family members some extra love today.
