It’s been so long since I last shared an actual post, I couldn’t find the button 🤦‍♀️ we will be working on that in 2026–along with a slew of other updates.

This is one of my favorite projects (circa 2023) and it represents a turning point in our service. This was one of the first projects where we combined renovations + furnishing—giving the whole home a beautiful synergy.

✨Teamwork makes the dream work. ✨

We helped our clients reimagine the heart of their home: we flipped the kitchen and dining room. Functionally, this gave the homeowner’s river views and more daylight in the kitchen. It also placed the kitchen centrally between the living room and the dining room. This project expanded into an adjacent living space and down into their basement bar lounge. It’s an amazing house, killer clients—I can’t wait to share the pro photos with you soon!

Check it out! 🎉 I’ve been accepted into the 10,000 Small Businesses Program! I’m eager to dig into developing the structure of this company while connecting with fellow small business folks right here in central Ohio. 🤍

I’ve got big, big, big dreams for what’s next for SHS: a showroom, a growing team and prioritizing sustainable and vintage material selections for our projects.

It’s not going to happen overnight, but with all the success SHS has had in a few short years, it’s exciting to think about what’s next. Here’s to making our small businesses BIG!

With that said, if we haven’t spoken yet this year, we are likely booked out into 2026. So if you want to get on our schedule for winter, now’s the time to reach out.

Progress pic: celebrating the little wins along the way.

Renovations are fueled by process and they take shape over month and months or even years.

They take shape in the form of inspiration images, 3D visuals, construction documents, demo, cabinet installs, countertop installs, layering in accessories and furniture. It just takes time.

If the past few years have taught me anything (and they’ve taught me a LOT) it’s that staying involved throughout the renovation process is critical. I’m the “idea generator” and I do my best to document and clearly communicate early on, but while things take shape there are often shifts. And it’s also easier to really “see” as space in real life vs on a computer.

Moral of the story: I’m making construction oversight a must-have vs. a nice-to-have bc it makes renovations go 1,000x better. And who doesn’t want a slam dunk reno???

Thrilled with this kitchen after. Swipe for the before.

Our clients had a very specific vision, but the devil is in the details. We helped them understand the individual components + options that come together to produce this kitchen.

Individually the finishes may not look like much, but it’s the sum of all parts that matters most.

The energy we put into things has a way of growing on without us. This digital landscape has a way of amplifying that fact.

In 2021, I teamed up with homeowners to reimagine their original MCM kitchen into what you see here: a bright + clean-lined contemporary kitchen with much better flow for a busy family—and modern appliances to boot 🙌

I loved this project.

It’s wild to me how much SHS has grown since then. Managing growth has not been easy, but nothing worth doing ever is.

Green is nature’s neutral. 🌿

There’s a reason we naturally love the color green—it’s part of our interest in and connection to nature. ‘s book, The New Bohemians, breaks down different landscapes and explains why we connect with different natural color pallets.

It’s interesting to think about how we connect with color. Green was our client’s favorite color. And when we helped her create this retreat of a master ensuite, green was a must.
