Who all here would be willing to sign a petition to the city of Columbus to ban the use of Glyphosate (active ingredient in Roundup) and similar compounds in our parks & public lands?

Many units of local government across the U.S. have implemented sweeping bans already (some cities and counties have held these bans for many years now).

Isn't it time for Columbus to at least act more community-minded?

Our Mayor Andrew Ginther has the right ideas going forward. I sincerely hope his community policing plan and other plans to refresh our police force and 911 system will facilitate a sea change in Columbus Ohio Police Force Efforts. As Mayor Ginther notes, when embedding social workers with 911 operators, they found 60% of calls didn't require police, they required social workers and de-escalation techniques. Two thumbs up Mayor Ginther! It's not the complete solution but its a great start.

Hello Everyone. It's finally Spring! After that lackluster winter, I guess that sounds somewhat anticlimactic as well. Well, here is something that may get your heart rate going: we'll be doing a cleanup at the walk-through garden on Mt. Pleasant between 3rd and 4th Avenues very soon. I met with the Italian Village Society a couple weeks ago, and there are people on board to help out. We'll be setting up a time soon. Thanks!

Branch Out Columbus Columbus needs to plant 300,000 trees in the next three years to recover from damage caused by insects and severe weather. Some areas have less than 15% tree canopy cover and are in desperate need of new plantings.
