Ruby Rose Studio Original artwork that features extreme depth and dramatic texture. Artistic expression has been a part of my identity for as long as I can remember.

Like many, I am a self-taught artist that has ventured into most areas of artwork creation and media, learning and honing my craft, through the exploration of materials and techniques. Inspired by the textures of nature, I can get lost in the peaks and valleys of bark on a tree or the details of naturally occurring rust as it bubbles and splits-- and my work reflects this preoccupation. hout my adolescence, as I dabbled in painting, sketching, sculpting, and writing, a recurring muse began to emerge in my work-- trees. Textural composition is most important in my creative process. My goal is to create a body of work that draws the viewer in, up close, tempting them to touch....

Each work is created by layering various mixed media such as heavy-bodied resins, sculpting plasters, metallic leafing materials, stains, and chemical reactants. I truly enjoy exploring the incompatibility of materials to create texture. Some materials, when layered, form incredible peaks and valleys as they attempt to separate from one another, resulting in dramatic depth and interest. Each piece is created on a custom made wooden panels. Each panel is completely enclosed, with the backs and sides finished and hanging hardware installed. When I create a new painting and post it on social media, many people will ask me if I plan to make another one.

I always reply and let them know that I absolutely will if they would like to commission one for themselves.

Here's the thing.... Yes, I may create a second painting (labeled as #2,) but I have no idea if or when I may get around to creating it.

Over three years ago I decided to no longer work the fine art festival scene. Therefore, I no longer need to create inventory.

These days, I'm happy with the amount of private commissions that come in throughout the year keeping me busy in the studio.

Commissions are nothing more than placing an order with me.

It is not more expensive to do so, either.

I price all of my work by size and you can view all of the prices on my website.

So if you REALLY love a painting that I created, but someone else has already purchased it, you may not want to wait and see if I make another "just because."

After creating the crescent moon art last fall, I've had this painting swirling around in my brain, asking to be made.

A friend messaged me a few weeks ago asking if it was too late to commission a piece of art to give as a gift for Christmas.

Luckily, I had an empty panel/canvas ready to go and the size seemed good.

He wasn't really sure what he wanted me to make, so I told him about this moon painting that I'd been daydreaming about and loved the idea.

As I was creating the background, I realized it needed a quote or some type of clip art added to it, so I went on the hunt for a beautiful quote about the moon.

I stumbled across something PERFECT:
