This Mother’s Day feels different.
We at Daniel Home want to honor Connie Russo Dudley, our Founder, Danny Russo's mom. This is the first Mother’s Day without his mom. A day that was normally filled with love is now a cherished memory of gratitude and a kind of ache that words do not always know how to hold.
At Daniel Home, we honor the mothers who shaped us, the mothers who continue to guide us, and the mothers whose love lives on in the way we work, create, lead, and care for others.
We also want to recognize the incredible moms on our team, including Camille Kauer, our Brand Strategist and Communications Director, who celebrates one year with us, and Amy Myers, our Office Manager, who has been a dedicated part of Daniel Home for 9 years. Their strength, creativity, and commitment remind us every day that motherhood is both a powerful and a balancing act when you work for a small business.
We know Mother’s Day is not easy for everyone. For those grieving the loss of a mother, especially on the first Mother’s Day without her, please know you are not alone.
Here are a few gentle ways to support someone who may be grieving:
Share a happy memory. Let them talk, cry, laugh, or stay quiet. Check in without trying to "fix" the pain. Offer grace, a walk, a text, or simply your presence. Grief does not need perfect words. It needs love, patience, and room to breathe.
This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the moms here with us, honor the moms we miss, and hold space for every heart carrying both love and loss.
Happy Mother’s Day.
