Right before heading to college I finished a large gouache and watercolor of a tiger and cub. My amazing art teacher had a dream and called frantic telling me to copyright it under my signature. I'm in my freshman yr in Columbus and sure enough the client was threatening my family and me to remove the copyright so they could make copies for their friends hotel in Orlando. My Dad offered to buy it back. They had only paid me $350 for this custom painting. I remember they complained that the frame cost more than they paid me. While I was home I went to their house, unannounced, and sweetly but fiercely told them it was copyright law that protected artists from people like themselves. (It looked good on their wall but sure wish I could of bought it back.)
