đ˘ ACTION NEEDED!!!
Everyone deserves access to fresh, nutritious food and affordable health care. But today, the U.S. Senate passed a bill that would slash funding for SNAP and Medicaid â programs that keep millions of families fed, healthy, and stable.
If this bill becomes law, Ohio could be responsible for nearly $400 million a year in new SNAP costs. That would force our state to either raise taxes, cut other essential services, or reduce food assistance for every vulnerable Ohioan.
It wouldnât stop there. Cuts to Medicaid would jeopardize hospital funding, limit health care access, and leave even more families without the care they need. These programs work hand in hand to reduce ER visits, support childrenâs health, and help families get back on their feet. Cutting them hurts our communities and costs us all more in the long run.
The Senate may have passed this bill today but itâs not over yet. Now, we need the U.S. House of Representatives to act. Ohio families are counting on them to reject this harmful legislation and protect the programs that protect our people.
Ohioâs foodbanks do everything we can to prevent hunger, but we cannot fill the gaps these devastating cuts would create.
đ˘ Contact your U.S. House member today and urge them to vote NO on this bill. Ohio families are counting on you!!!!! Use our action alert here: https://ohiofoodbanks.quorum.us/campaign/124567/
