The Boozy Gardeners

The Boozy Gardeners I am excited to start this community for all of us to have a little fun while we garden! We’re here to have fun – please enjoy!

A group for those who love to garden, imbibe, garden while imbibing, simply stare at their plants (or weeds) while imbibing, and of course the gardener who enjoys imbibing with ingredients grown in their garden. I come from a long line of gardeners and have a huge passion for all things plants and nature, bugs, bees, and birds. I also come from a family who enjoys its fair amount of booze be it a

beer or bourbon. I’m also a firm believer that these two things should not be mutually exclusive! Here, you will find kindred spirits, pun intended, of folks who have cocktail recipes with homegrown herbs, best beer suggestion for pulling grass out of landscape beds, and in general goofy stories of gardening. HOW TO "POST"

Because this page is age restricted, we cannot be considered a "Group" where there is random posting. To comply, I present two ways to post -
1) Tag "The Boozy Gardeners" in your post, make sure it is "Public" and I can share the post.
2) Send me a message with your photo , recipe, content, all relevant details, etc. and I will post here and tag you for credit. From there, we can all comment and have fun! I will do my best to fill in gaps (if there are any) with original content - I'm inspired! RULES FOR PAGE

I got these wine glasses as a gift years ago and still totally obsessed. They’re by Govino - they’re plastic! Super thin, dishwasher safe, gardening safe. I’ve had these for about 4 years and no fogginess or scratches. Had to share a fav!

One of my favorites in hot weather - and super easy when you've exhausted your creative braincells on planting pots and annuals. Ignore my peonies that I need to trim up... and the plants still needing a home... and the stepping stones I need to clean up.

Your favorite vodka (or gin, really)
Favorite sparkling grapefruit mixer - this one is Fever Tree, Betty Buzz is great as well for a slightly sweeter, more concentrated flavor
Muddled lavender or lavender extract
Sprig of lavender

I grow lavender as an annual. I've tried several times as a perennial but I think our Midwest winters are just too wet here. It's a favorite along a path, patio, or pots - pretty flowers, light scent, and biting insect control all in one!

Welcome, you Boozy Gardeners! I'm hoping this post finds you as excited and inspired as I feel - albeit a little deer in headlights pulling this thing together. I'm finally ready to give this a launch - and smash a brownie while I'm at it!

Please read through the About Me/Description section for how to post. Groups are a little different for 21+/alcohol related pages. I look forward to "sharing" a cocktail and our love - or, let's be honest, at times hatred - of gardening! Cheers! (Yes, that is a bottle of wine, brownies, seed packets - like I can grow things from seeds, and binoculars for bird watching. LOL More photos of plants and booze to come!)
