A Golf Collector’s Den Inspired by Pebble Beach. Kip Opgrand, thank you for letting us spotlight your beautiful den.
In this richly detailed den, the story of the homeowner’s past is written into every surface. The owner spent years as a specialty dealer in golf antiques near the legendary Pebble Beach Golf Links, and the room now serves as a quiet tribute to that chapter of life. Classic Papering & Painting brought depth and structure to the space with a deep navy finish applied across the paneling, trim, and built-ins—creating a backdrop that allows the collection of golf memorabilia to feel curated rather than crowded. Vintage clubs, tournament flags, framed photographs, and collected artifacts sit comfortably alongside warm wood furniture and the brick fireplace, giving the room the feeling of a traditional club library.
Just beyond the French doors, the view opens to the homeowner’s private putting green—a daily reminder of the game that shaped so much of his career. He jokes that he never worries about stray shots reaching the driveway, because his aim has always been “on point.”
The result is a room that feels both personal and timeless: part collector’s gallery, part fireside retreat, and entirely reflective of a life spent around the game of golf.
