Ike’s Construction was honored to attend the dedication of Davidson College powerful memorial, “With These Hands.” We are thankful for the opportunity to partner with Rodgers Builders, Inc.on the sitework that helped prepare the foundation for Oak Row’s inaugural exhibition.
The memorial stands as a reminder of the enslaved and exploited individuals whose labor helped build the college’s earliest structures, including the bricks of the surrounding historic buildings. The sculpture, “With these Hands” is illuminated, two bronze, work-weathered hands rise to cradle the earth, symbolizing both the weight of history and the hope of progress.
The public unveiling took place on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 4 p.m. in the heart of Davidson College.

Project Complete: Spencer Town Park

Ike’s Construction is proud to announce the completion of the new Spencer Town Park a vibrant, multi-use green space in the heart of Spencer, NC. As the General Contractor on this transformative project, we’re honored to have played a key role in bringing this vision to life.

What was once a paved parking lot is now a welcoming civic space located in front of the new Town Hall and Police Department. At its center is a 12,000-square-foot lawn surrounded by a walking loop providing space for recreation, relaxation, and community connection. The park also features a multi-purpose open-air pavilion and an interactive water feature, creating a destination for residents of all ages.

The pavilion, with 2,000 square feet of open floor space, includes a performance stage, restrooms, picnic tables, lighting, and electrical access designed to support a variety of community events, including Spencer’s beloved Winterfest.

Sustainability and heritage were key to the park’s design. Native plants and pollinator-friendly landscaping support the local ecosystem, while historic elements including brick columns inspired by the 1926 park and restored light fixtures connect the space to Spencer’s past. Located across from the North Carolina Transportation Museum, the park complements the surrounding architecture and celebrates the town’s rich history.

Ike’s Construction is honored to be awarded the new Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Truck Driving Range project. We are thankful for the trust Rowan-Cabarrus has placed in us to help expand their programs.

Alongside our partners C DESIGN, Timmons Group, and CMTA, we were proud to attend the groundbreaking and officially kick off this important project.

The new Driver Training Range will allow RCCC students to gain more hands-on practice and emergency vehicle operator training, preparing them for Class A CDL licensure and strong career opportunities. This program not only meets industry standards but also provides graduates with a direct path into the workforce.

We’re excited to see the impact this project will have on students and the community!

After a productive day on the job, the Ike’s Construction crew took some well-deserved time to relax and enjoy a Cannonballers game together! There’s nothing better than spending time with our work family outside the job site.

A big thank you to the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers for the warm hospitality and a great night at the ballpark. We truly appreciate the experience!
