Flush inset doors cost more when done right. Keeping a consistent 2mm reveal takes time fitting each door to its opening. Sure you can open these reveals up and not have to bevel and fit them but it doesn’t look the same. cabinets

Festool conturo, getting the hang of this machine. Wouldn’t say it’s faster then applying with spray adhesive but way better glue line. Actually the full cost might be worth it just for the 2” square chunk of carbide! This scraper with radius edge cut out is simple but absolutely awesome!!

4 separate 3 board glue ups, two main glue ups and one festool knock down hardware joint to make this beast transportable. Biggest wood island I’ve done. Picture makes it tough to tell but on the long end it’s 10’x7’x6’x 1-3/4 thick alder. Not very light and easily dented. Not a good combination :) upper area of this island to get stone with 5” apron edges.

Post about posts. 😂😂😂 little kerf detail to give a line between the 5” thick stone counter tops and post. This detail will be on lower portion too with wood top. I used a scrap piece of a Mahogany top to mock it up. I find that designers like to draw things flush but typically don’t realize how hard that actually is to do. This will take great coordination by the contractor, cabinet guy, stone fabricator and installers to pull off correctly. Keeping fingers crossed. .
