Summer entertaining, the way we love it — effortless, elegant, and elevated by nature. 🌿✨

This weekend’s table was inspired by a morning stroll through the local farmers market:
🍑 Juicy peaches
🫐 Fresh berries
🌻 Armfuls of wildflowers
🥖 A crusty artisan loaf and local honey

Just finished this fabulous living room! I am always drawn to warm and cozy spaces and love creating them. This mix of deep brown leather and ochre velvet was the perfect color palette for a modern farmhouse styled home. And while I feel that the term "modern farmhouse" is overused, the architectural style of this recently built home is exactly that. So we leaned into it and this is the result!

It’s spring! It finally feels like it. Flowers are blooming, in the South, it’s right around 80 degrees, and everything is a beautiful green. If you watched the Masters, you know what I mean. But at this time of year, I also feel like I need a little reset. Spring cleaning, organizing, purging - a reset in business and in home. Do you get that way too?

It’s *so* hard to look at a few tiny swatches and imagine your entire space coming together — we get it. Those little fabric squares, paint chips, and tile samples can feel like a shot in the dark.⁣

The absolute best part about this job is taking everything from just an idea to a space that people come home to. We love what we do at BMI and nothing brings us more joy than happy clients. We are still a couple of months away from finishing this one but we couldn’t be more excited about the final result!

Who else out there loves to buy fresh flowers? 🌸✨ Adding fresh flowers to your home brings color, texture, and a touch of nature indoors. I get asked a lot how to define my style... and that's not always the easiest answer because sometimes style can't be named. It can be broken down into pieces. And in every project, some elements reflect my style while the whole reflects my clients style. It is their space after all. What I do like to inject into every project is an element of rustic elegance. Whether that is some antique furniture with good patina or some animal hide or aged wood, I try to get something rustic and lived in into the space. I feel that it adds warmth and depth to any room.
