❓WHAT IS POLISHED CONCRETE FLOORING❓
Concrete polishing is a process that involves grinding, honing, and polishing concrete surfaces to achieve a smooth and glossy finish. The process is carried out using specialized machinery, tools, and chemicals that are specifically designed for this purpose.
The first step in the concrete polishing process is to prepare the surface by grinding away any existing coatings or imperfections using diamond abrasive tools. This step can also involve filling in any cracks, chips, holes or other imperfections in the concrete to create a smooth and even surface.
Once the surface is prepared, the polishing process begins. This involves gradually increasing the grit level of diamond abrasives used to refine the surface and create a smooth, glossy finish. The floor is treated with a chemical densifier that hardens the concrete making it extremely impact and abrasion resistant. The polishing process can be further enhanced by adding dyes, stains, or logos to the surface, which can create a range of colors and patterns.
After the polishing process is complete, a sealer is applied to the surface to protect it from stains and other forms of damage. The end result of concrete polishing is an incredibly durable, low-maintenance surface that is ideal for a range of applications, from residential flooring to commercial and industrial settings.
