We’re excited to see momentum building for the Alquina Park project and proud to see this spring’s build moving forward. Community projects like this only happen when people step up and contribute their time, resources, and expertise.

Last fall, Rural Valley Architecture donated the architectural drawings for the project that allowed it to move through its first phase of approvals and reach the point where construction could begin.

The drawings represent many hours of professional work that we were happy to contribute to help the project move forward.

We’re grateful to have played a small role in helping lay the groundwork for what will soon become a great addition to Alquina Park, and we look forward to seeing the vision move from drawings into place this spring.

While this is not one of our projects, it is one of our favorite contractors.
Brandt Construction, Inc. offers a wide range of services and excels in all its endeavors. Looking forward to working with them again! Maybe I'll go find a building to move!

SO much can happen without decorations.

Eero Saarinen’s MIT Chapel, completed in 1955, is a masterclass in blending simplicity with profound spatial experience. Saarinen’s circular brick structure is unadorned on the outside, yet inside, it reveals a serene play of light. The skylight above the altar allows natural light to cascade onto a suspended metal sculpture, creating a dramatic, almost spiritual atmosphere. This minimalist approach highlights Saarinen’s ability to craft spaces that evoke emotion through material and light, making the MIT Chapel one of the most distinctive modern sacred spaces.

Excited about this building method, and would love to get into a design for our region. Low-rise commercial construction is also suited to this technology. Imagine the warmth and durability of a space like this in our hometowns. Why not us?

These professionals bring history to life. The logical next step from colorizing black and white historic photography. Colors bring these images from the past right into your face and understanding. Neat.

This is how the hieroglyphs and figures in ancient Egyptian temples originally appeared before their colors faded over time. Researchers at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York carefully studied the original pigments and used a polychromatic light display to restore their vibrant colors, giving us a glimpse into how these artworks once looked in their full glory.

We are thankful for a wonderful and busy year. Great new clients have been met, and several of our best supporters have returned to Rural Valley with their visions. I am always humbled by the trust put in me to guide clients through their design and construction journey. With a couple of projects completed, one project in construction, two projects headed into construction, and three more in programming and early planning phases, 2025 looks to be a busy year!

Rural Valley is so grateful for the support. Cheers!

It is a privilege to have watched the hose decoupling (ribbon cutting *wink*) of the Rushville Firehouse addition yesterday. A modest project that will make a big impact on the department. Sleeping quarters, a large kitchen, and a large fellowship space make up the first phase of the renovation.

More importantly, this is the first time I have been a part (small though it was) of installing a Safe Haven Baby Box. #177 https://www.shbb.org/ A fully anonymous way for mothers to surrender their babies when it isn't possible for them to do more for them. A fully heated and Air Conditioned space that immediately alerts the firefighters inside when a child is left, this box has resulted in numerous successful adoptions and has positively changed lives.

I lived in Rushville for 13 years before moving to Connersville. It is the longest I have lived anywhere other than my childhood home. These two communities and everything in between are our homes. We proudly serve it through our gifts of time, talent, and treasure.
