There’s something satisfying about watching compost come off the screener.

It’s been broken down, turned, and worked over time into something dark, fine, and ready to go back into the soil. What you’re seeing is the end result of a natural process that keeps everything moving in the right direction.

Good soil doesn’t happen fast, but this is what patience looks like.

The nursery isn’t just a place to shop for plants. It’s a place to slow down, explore, and learn something new while you’re here.

We’ve added educational signs throughout the property so you can discover more about the plants, soil, and wildlife that make a healthy landscape work. From butterflies and beneficial insects to soil health and native plants, there’s something to notice around every corner.

Come walk the nursery, take your time, and make it a destination, not just a stop.

Meet the Blue Pipevine Swallowtail caterpillar.

While its bright orange spikes and dark coloring may look intimidating, this caterpillar is completely harmless to people. It feeds on pipevine plants, which provide the natural compounds that help protect it from predators as it grows.

In time, this unusual-looking caterpillar will transform into one of Texas' most beautiful butterflies, known for its iridescent blue wings and its role as a pollinator.

It's a great reminder that healthy gardens support every stage of life, from caterpillars to butterflies.

A few days ago, we welcomed a great group of gardeners, landscapers, and curious minds to Nature's Way Resources for our "See How It's Made: Soil, Compost & Mulch Tour."

Together, we explored how organic materials are transformed into compost, mulch, and living soils, discussed the role of soil biology, and took a behind-the-scenes look at the processes that support healthier landscapes across our region.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and brought such thoughtful questions and enthusiasm. A special thank you to Ian Ferguson for sharing his knowledge and leading the tour.

We love creating opportunities to connect with our community and share the science and stewardship behind healthy soils.

Stay tuned for future tours and educational events.

Some mornings aren't meant to be rushed.

Take a walk through the nursery. Wander the greenhouse. Find a shady spot with a cup of coffee and a good book. Listen to the birds, watch the butterflies, and enjoy a slower pace for a little while.

Of course, you might leave with a few plants. But you don't have to.

Nature's Way Resources has always been more than a place to shop. It's a place to learn, explore, and spend time surrounded by growing things.

If you've been needing a quiet morning, we'd love to see you.

Open Monday–Saturday.

Our Coarse Fungal Compost is now available at just $30 per cubic yard.

This is a deeply composted, fungal-rich material designed to help rebuild and support living soil. It works as both a compost-heavy mulch and a soil amendment, making it one of the simplest ways to improve soil health across your landscape.

Why gardeners use it:
• Helps improve soil structure over time
• Supports moisture retention during hot Texas seasons
• Adds organic matter that feeds soil biology
• Great for long-term soil building in beds, trees, and shrubs

Whether you’re refreshing garden beds or starting to rebuild tired soil, this is a practical, natural step toward healthier growing conditions.

Available now at Nature’s Way Resources while supplies last.
