I think it's time to recognize some of the most dedicated employees here at Schwalm Painting & Carpentry. Without whom I couldn't have completed this stairwell and mudroom transformation. These guys have logged countless hours gathering and preparing material for the installation. They would often work throughout the night doing so. In fact they often preferred it so not to be bothered and could stay busy. You could almost say they were dam obsessed! The quality craftsmanship is hard to ignore as every individual piece shows that they inspected it with a sharp-toothed comb. They even taught me a thing or two throughout the whole process causing me to branch out to new ideas! All the while they wouldn't accept a dime from me. All they wanted in return was free lodging on my property which I gladly provided..... if you haven't guessed yet my Gratitude goes out to none other than the North American Beaver. 🦫

The siding on this little cottage was neglected for far too long but after some extensive prep work and applying a high quality primer and paint, we managed to squeeze a few more years out of it.

This house suffered significant water damage due to the lack of flashing around the sliding glass door and previous deck. We replaced all water-damaged lumber, installed a new slider, properly flashed everything, and built a new 8'x8' back deck. The customer chose to replace the cedar shakes personally.

Student housing project up on SU hill. We're on the 3rd floor with no elevator so I came up with a way to work smarter not harder..... still whooped but at least we're not hauling stuff up and down the stairs!😅😵‍💫

Our customer's laundry room was in dire need of an overhaul. The old washer had developed a leak, resulting in black mold growth on the subfloor. We replaced the subfloor and installed new LVP flooring. We also built some custom shelving to optimize storage space and installed a new washer and dryer. To complete the transformation, we applied a fresh coat of paint to the whole area. It might not make doing laundry enjoyable, but at least they don't have to go back to the laundromat!

Part 5 of 5: The crowning jewel of Vanderkamp's Grace manor is the exquisite kitchen. We completely gutted the space and removed a couple walls to create a spacious and inviting area that flows seamlessly into the huge island bar. The ceramic wood plank flooring adds warmth and character to the space, while the stunning marble countertops provide ample seating and a touch of modern elegance. High end appliances and custom cabinetry make it the perfect place to cook, entertain, and make memories.
