I went out to check on everything after that downpour and I'm glad I did!! The storm was just the boost my first schickendantzii of the year needed! Luckily, I caught it just as it was beginning to split. If I had waited until morning to check, this fruit would most likely have been ruined by ants and other bugs.
There are some other blooms as well! The Sorceress flowersare completely washed out, but it looks like Apricot Glow opens its flower so slowly that it wasn't open yet during the rain.

hybrid "Hans Sachs" bloomed last night! I was able to collect a good amount of pollen, and I pollinated the two as well.

I've been working on a new t-shirt design 😁
This design will be another three part stencil; I may add a fourth color stencil as well. These stencils were done entirely by hand.

"Dominoe" bloomed 😁 I was able to collect a bit of pollen and I crossed it with E "Sorceress". I've never been able to get a fruit from this plant, but I will keep trying!

Today is Endangered Species Day β€” a reminder that the incredible wildlife around us is not guaranteed forever. From sea turtles and red wolves to native pollinators and fragile river species, so many animals are struggling because of habitat loss, pollution, and climate change.

Healthy rivers, wetlands, forests, and coastlines are essential not only for wildlife, flora and fauna, but for all of us. Every clean-up, every conservation effort, every voice raised for protection matters.

Take a moment today to appreciate the natural world around you and consider one small action you can take to help protect it! Let’s reduce litter, plant native species, support conservation organizations, and/or simply educate others about the importance of biodiversity.

When we protect endangered species, we protect the future of our ecosystems and communities too.

Something cool and unexpected has happened!! For the first time ever, I have some open pollinated !!!
I didn't pollinate or collect pollen from these flowers because they weren't open all the way, and then when they were it was raining. I had just assumed that there wouldn't be any fruits on this , but I was wrong!
There were actually three other plants with flowers when these flowers bloomed, so I really don't know what it was pollimated with. I would guess "Apricot Glow" because it is the closest one, but it could also be "Sorceress" or T schickendantzii. I suppose the flowers could even have been pollinated with different pollens so we will just have to see what happens like years from now lol
