Fresh, clean tubers!

The dahlia season is ending.
Last week we cut the blooms back and left about 3-4 feet of foliage.
This morning we removed the top layer of Hortanova netting, cut the foliage completely, and removed the last layer of Hortanova.
We will cut up the foliage and start our ‘lasagna’ layering for composting. The green foliage will be covered with leaf matter from our yard to start a winter compost for each of the beds. We’ll start digging tubers this today and tomorrow for storage!

Peaches N Crème!

Two Swallowtails enjoying the echinacea in one of our native pollinator gardens. We’ve been focusing our landscaping on planting natives and pollinator-friendly plants and we have so many butterflies, bees and hummingbirds enjoying this space. We love to watch them!

The flower cart is open again today! Located near the Winery at Wolf Creek, just off Cleveland-Massillon Road on Hemphill (couple of houses in on the right!) Look for our sign.
