Bathroom remodel question — does this look safe or correct?
I’m in the middle of a bathroom remodel and noticed this wiring situation behind the wall. There’s what looks like an older cable spliced/transitioned into a newer yellow cable, wrapped in black tape, and stapled to the stud.
I’m not an electrician, but this doesn’t exactly scream “clean professional work” to me.
Is this an acceptable way to handle wiring during a remodel, or should this be in a proper junction box / redone before the wall gets closed up?
Trying to catch anything sketchy now before drywall goes back on.
