🚨We just received an urgent plea for help. A puppy was found by a Good Samaritan on the side of a road in critical condition.

Leroy has a re**al prolapse that has led to part of the colon becoming necrotic. This is a severe condition and is always fatal without emergency intervention. Surgery to remove the necrotic tissue and resection of the colon is necessary for him to survive. This condition occurs when the re**um, the last part of the intestines, gets turned inside out and sticks out of the a**s. Leroy has been suffering like this for a while for the tissue to start dying. We have rushed Leroy to Blue Pearl Hospital and have approved any and all treatment to save his life. We cannot imagine the pain and suffering Leroy has endured. We pray we are not too late and that Leroy can survive this ordeal.

This is a major surgery requiring a specialist, and we could use your support to cover the cost. He is only a puppy and doesn’t deserve to die like this. We will update you as soon as we can.

URGENT Foster or Adoptive Home Needed for Fiona!

This beautiful 12 year-old-female Cocker Spaniel is in urgent need of a foster or forever home. Sadly, Fiona’s dad was placed in a hospice facility and passed away today. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friend during this difficult time.

Fiona was "daddy's little girl" and was his beloved companion.

We were contacted to help find Fiona a new home where she can heal from losing her dad and her home, and be loved and cherished for the rest of her life. Fiona is a lovely older girl and is well behaved. She is friendly and loves to snuggle and give kisses. She loves to play with fuzzy squeaky toys. She is accustomed to a home with a yard to go potty and was trained to use wee wee pads while her dad was ill. She is a velcro Cocker and will follow her person from room to room. If you have love in your heart, please share some with Fiona. She can surely use some right now!

💔 We received a devastating call for help. Maestro was given a 4 PM deadline to get out, and we vowed to save his life. He was broken, confused, and huddled in the back of his kennel, shaking in fear. Not only was his spirit broken, but his body was covered in mange, covering every inch of him and making even the slightest movements painful. The shelter sent out numerous pleas for help; they've begged and pleaded for his life but to no avail until they called us. We took one look at him and knew we had to help. The shelter's resources are limited; they are underfunded and overcrowded. Without intervention, Maestro was going to lose his life. We were not going to let Maestro's life end like this; he didn't deserve to become another statistic. We rushed Maestro to the hospital for care, and we will update you as he progresses. We could use your support in covering Maestro's cost of care.🙏

Happy Pawlidays from Buttercup, a 9-year-old Amstaff mix who has spent nearly half her life waiting for a family to give her a chance. Years ago, this poor girl was surrendered to a shelter in North Carolina, where she languished for years before we tagged her for rescue to help find her a home. Somehow, she is still waiting.

Buttercup has a mild disc variation that makes her back legs a little wonky and causes incontinence, but she doesn't let that slow her down; she happily runs, rolls, and chases balls. With a regular schedule and access to a yard, we know Buttercup will flourish in a home.

The staff at the Rescue Center say she is "as sweet as can be." She's a total princess; her personality outshines everyone else is the room and all eyes will be on her when she shows off that big pitty smile, sits at your feet, or lays on her back and wiggles to try to snag some extra belly rubs.

Our hearts break that she's been overlooked this long when she is such a good girl. She's a Rescue Center favorite, and she deserves to be in a home.

URGENT!!! FOSTER/FOREVER HOME NEEDED FOR THE HOLIDAYS FOR ROXY!

Meet Roxy This beautiful five-year-old female Cocker Spaniel was surrendered to the Brooklyn Shelter due to her owner’s failing health. On intake, Roxy’s former told the shelter, she is a friendly girl with a good temperment. However, at the shelter, she is very scared, shaking and thrashing her body on the floor from fear. She currently has an ear infection. She will need to make a quick stop at our vet to assess and treat her ears. 

Roxy has no history with children, cats or other dogs. However, when she sees a dog on her walk she is respectful. We are in URGENT need of a FOSTER HOME to get her out of the shelter ASAP. Please complete our online application at www.nyabandonedangels.com if you can help Roxy for the holidays!

Additional Shelter/Owner Notes:
She is nervous and will hide during loud noises. She isn't bothered when you touch her food, treats or toys. She is afraid when you touch her feet/ try to trim her nails. She will bark when a stranger approaches the home or a family member. She isn't bothered when you brush her coat or pick her up.
She is friendly, shy and independent. She eats wet and dry food 2x a day and likes to play with her ball and watch TV.

MY FAMILY MAY HAVE BROKE MY HEART BUT I CAN STILL LOVE YOU WITH ALL THE PIECES

Koda was surrendered to the Babylon Animal Shelter in July of 2021 by those she thought would love her forever – dumped at the shelter because they were moving.

Beautiful Koda now sits alone and heartbroken behind shelter walls. Every day, every hour, and every minute, she waits. With every car, every visitor, and every walk outdoors, she’s certain she’s going home. She wonders where her family is and she has a lot of anxiety about it.

Koda is a very sweet and friendly 2-3 year old girl who is very anxious about being in the shelter. She is incredibly obedient; very smart, knows her commands, walks well on leash. She likes to stick close to her people and comes right to you when you call her. Koda’s previous home reports that she can be afraid of thunder and fireworks and she is not a fan of cats or other dogs. Koda will jump on you for some loving, and will take all the love that you will give her. She loves people, loves kids but older children are recommended because she can get a bit mouthy and jumpy.

Sadly, Koda is deteriorating in the kennel and losing weight. She is super stressed and anxious. She also displays some separation anxiety which is one of the most common problems that dogs face, due to the separation from the humans they are attached to – and Koda has lost the only home she has ever known.

She would do best in a home where someone is there most of the time since she does not like being away from those she loves. Someone with some dog experience would be best so they can continue to work through her anxiety. An active family with older children (10+) and a fenced in yard would be a wonderful fit for her. She loves to play, is a total love bug and enjoys cuddling too.

Koda is yet another heartbroken, beautiful soul who is looking for someone to share her world with. Open your heart and give Koda the chance she truly deserves! There must be a family out there who is the perfect match for this stunning girl; she is truly special and so deserving.

Please help us find Koda the forever home she really deserves – let’s not allow her to wait any longer. Make arrangements to meet her, spend time with her, we guarantee you’ll fall in love!
