What is jute? This is a southern plant that only grows in humid and warm climates. And its collection and processing is very hard physical labor.
Jute likes a warm and humid climate and is a short-day crop. It is a long, soft, shiny plant fiber that can be woven into high-strength rough filaments. It has the characteristics of good hygroscopicity and rapid moisture loss, and is mainly used for textile sacks, burlap, etc.
Natural jute, produced in Bangladesh at 23.8° north latitude, is of the highest quality and softest. The unparalleled ecological "golden fiber" can be called the best of jute;
The biggest feature of jute is that it can be completely degraded. Some people say that it "comes from the earth, helps the earth, and returns to the earth." It is a completely environmentally friendly material.
Bags made of jute are stronger and more durable than cotton bags; fishing nets woven from jute are stronger and less likely to break than cotton nets.
The traditional products of jute are sacks, linen cloth, and h**p yarn. Sacks are the main products.
The degradability of jute makes it very useful in the industrial field. As an extension of traditional products, jute fabric can also be used to make tree trunk wrappings and tree wrapping cloth to protect against cold and insect damage. In addition, jute has also begun to be used at home. Field development, such as jute carpets, handbags, tablecloths and other handicrafts.
Special burlap with a h**p mesh structure made of jute. It is suitable for foundation reinforcement, slope stabilization, erosion prevention, lining protection, and asphalt surface layer protection, such as slope protection for large and medium-sized water conservancy projects. Geotextiles are used in areas with soft soil foundation or rainy areas. It is very effective in preventing soil erosion and can promote the establishment and growth of vegetation.
Let’s take a look at the manufacturing process of jute fiber
1.Harvest
First, you need to cut off the plant's adult stems, which look like tall, thin reeds. Pulleys are then formed from the stems and stored for 3 days.
2.Sun-dried h**p
Move the harvested jute to a ventilated and dry place to dry in the sun to fully dry the moisture in the jute.
Once the jute stalks become brittle and light, they can be tied up and soaked in rivers or ponds for a long time to soften the stalks.
3.Retting (bast fiber degumming)
Retting is a process that uses the effects of bacteria and water on plants to dissolve or corrode most of the honeycomb connective tissue and colloid surrounding the bast fiber bundles, thereby promoting the separation of fibers from h**p stems.
After 2 to 3 weeks, the h**p stems are immersed in water, and the water pe*****tes into the central part of the h**p stems, causing the internal cells to swell and burst the outermost layer, thereby increasing the absorption of water and bacteria, and the fibers are separated.
4. Strip the fiber
After jute is harvested and soaked for about 2 weeks, you can peel the jute. Peel off the thick jute stalks, soak them in water, and twist the plant fibers into fine threads.
5.Drying jute fiber
6. Oil immersion
There are residual plant colloids in finely washed h**p, and the fibers are still glued to each other. The separation of fiber clusters is poor, the hand feels rough and astringent, and impurities such as h**p stems, skin scraps, and dust are also adhered to.
The raw materials need to be prepared and processed first to make them Loose, soft, lubricated, and removes some impurities. The first step is to open the h**p bags, select the h**p handfuls one by one, distinguish the grades, shake off the dust, and divide the h**p evenly. Then it is rolled through a soft linen machine and moistened with emulsified oil to make the fiber loose, soft and smooth.
The stacking process is to stack the soft h**p handles in the h**p storehouse and compact them tightly, so that the emulsified oil can evenly diffuse and pe*****te into all parts of the h**p handles.
At the same time, due to the action of microorganisms, the remaining glue is further removed, making the fiber swollen and soft.
Jute that has been oiled and stockpiled is called oil-soaked.
7. Bundling h**p

JUTE IN EROSION CONTROL APPLICATION
High-quality jute can be used in our soil protection erosion control, ensuring a strong, reliable solution for preventing soil erosion.
This is a naturally biodegradable material known for its excellent erosion control capabilities. It acts as a shield, protecting soil from erosion, reducing sedimentation, mitigating the adverse effects of wind and water, and ensuring the integrity of landscape and garden areas.
As a natural and biodegradable material, it promotes environmental sustainability by blending seamlessly with the soil, enriching its quality and eventually decomposing without leaving harmful residues.
Whether you're mulching an embankment, stabilizing a slope or nurturing a garden bed, the easy-to-cut design allows for seamless customization, easily adapting to a variety of terrains and shapes.
Jute fabric is resistant to weather conditions and UV degradation, making it durable. Its sturdy construction ensures durability, providing long-term protection against corrosion while maintaining its strength and integrity over time, reducing the need for frequent replacement.
Its ability to maintain soil structure, prevent erosion, and promote a healthier, more stable environment for plants makes it an essential tool for landscaping professionals and gardening enthusiasts alike.
