Corpus Christi Hi Lights enjoyed their annual Christmas luncheon followed by a trip to Aloe Tile Works, a local 20 year old family-owned business, well known throughout the United States for their hand-made ceramic art tiles. The owners, Ed and Cornelia Gates, were most gracious in showing us what they do and how they do it. Their relief tiles are hand carved, painted with colored clay and then using custom glazes fired to make beautiful items. Their work has been featured in Peter King's Architectural Ceramics for the Studio Potter and in many large public works. You can find their FaceBook Page here:
