Finished up my first kitchen remodel. The dishwasher in this house had broken and destroyed some of the subfloor and all of the lower cabinets. I removed the cabinets, removed the old flooring, removed the damaged sub floor, and removed wet insulation .
Installed new insulation, new subfloor, new cabinets, a new dishwasher, new countertops.
The homeowners decided to do away with the raised bar to save some money and open up the floor plan. Click-lock vinyl flooring through the utility room, kitchen, living room, and bathroom (replaced the toilet while I was at it).
These homeowners were amazing people to work with. Looking forward to more work with them in the future.

This was a flooring job in a small mobile home. Some water damage had to be repaired. 1/4 plywood underlayment went down over the entire project area. Vinyl plank flooring was installed through the kitchen, hallway, bedroom, and bathroom. This product is completely waterproof and will not swell when it gets wet. Snowy roof? Better move it! Depths are pushing structural limits for some buildings across the county.

Building inspectors have been measuring snow accumulations to assess roof loads throughout the county. Every inch of snow on a roof near Durango’s elevation weighs 1.5 pounds per square foot; at 30-inch depth, the snow weighs 45 pounds per square foot – or 22.5 tons across a 1,000 square foot roof. At upper elevations, the snow is heavier – approximately 2.5 pounds per inch per square foot.

This weight and accumulation on flat and low-pitched roofs is approaching, if not exceeding the design load capability of homes and buildings – even those newly constructed.

Sagging roofs, creaking or moaning and visible cracks in walls are signs of unstable roof systems. Be aware that overloaded roof systems can collapse suddenly and without warning. Evacuate your home and call 911 if you suspect your roof is failing.

Snow is really starting to pile up out there! As you focus on sidewalks and driveways, dont forget about the weight of the snow on your roof. Also watch for ice dams developing along the eve (usually on the North side). I own a snow rake and can help prevent these problems before they become a serious issue.
