Making beautiful things has been my passion for as long as I can remember! It started when I was just a little girl and my dad’s business was selling craft goods to retail hobby stores. I had to have my hands on everything---the latch hook kits, the needlepoint kits, the skeins of yarn, everything! The passion continued throughout high school as I spent weeks designing and sewing every one of the
dresses I wore to formal dances. As an adult, I followed my passion even further and earned a bachelor’s degree in fashion design and enjoyed a very successful career in the fashion industry as a designer for highly recognizable brands. Through the years, the pull of a slower pace and family life became harder and harder to resist. I am a wife to an amazing husband and a mom to an equally amazing, 10 year old daughter. We live in sunny Southern California just a few miles from some of the nicest beaches and most spectacular shopping in the world. While I enjoy the more balanced lifestyle, I found I still needed to design and create to fulfill my passion. So, a good friend of mine suggested opening an Etsy shop. I loved the idea, but had no idea what I would create! I looked around my home for inspiration and realized that my passion for home décor is as strong as fashion. And, thus, “409Designs” was born!
