Verde River Growers

Verde River Growers Verde River Growers provides plant needs for central and northern Arizona, from Cottonwood to Flag Welcome to Verde River Growers!

Since 2005, we have grown for garden centers throughout the state. We are also a leading source of high quality plants for landscapers and commercial businesses in the Verde Valley & beyond. We are truly excited to be able to grow healthier plants with a mindful eye on the environment. Most garden centers have to ship plants in from other states, but in our unique way - by growing locally - we cut

carbon emissions immensely. Our location & exceptional dedication to growing plants for Arizona offers an advantage to all our customers. We produce our own annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, trees, shrubs, cacti & native plants from seed or cuttings. Our farm, in the heart of Cottonwood, AZ, covers 15 acres. At least 1 acre, with 10 greenhouses, is solely dedicated to bedding plants. All of our beautiful, mature plants are capable of growing strongly anywhere throughout the Verde Valley & northern AZ. Because they are grown in Arizona, these plants are acclimated to our sometimes harsh environment and therefore more likely to thrive in your yard.At Verde River Growers, it's very easy to get the plants you want. Walk among the trees & roses, pines and low water natives. Peruse the tables in our shaded shopping areas. See what's new in the greenhouses. With a full service customer counter, prices you'll love & very friendly, helpful staff - it's an experience you'll tell all your friends about!

~Don't Lose Hope!~

It's getting hot out there! With summer around the the corner, our temperatures have skyrocketed to high 90's and low 100's!

That means newly planted shrubs, trees and perrenials will need more water, more often.

Even if your plants begin to wilt and look crunchy; don't give up! Make sure to give them plenty of water (up to twice a day!) and they can make a speedy recovery just like this crape myrtle.

~Leafcutter Bees are Back~

With summer around the corner and temperatures rising, plenty of critters and insects are starting to come back into our local ecosystem.

If you come across round holes in the foilage of your Redbuds or Lilacs, don't fret. This is usually a sign of Leafcutter Bees carving out pieces of leaves to feed their larvae.

Leafcutter Bees are a native, beneficial pollinator. So no need to use chemical treatments to get rid of them, as they won't cause substantial damage to your plants.
