I don’t usually rant on here but I feel the need to say something. I have been doing this work for almost 35 years now. Normally on all jobs there are little extras that we do at no cost to the customer because there is always some down time on the job, so we use that time to take of little things. However, the past two customers went to far with asking for things that were considered to a big extra. For instance the past customer asks to install a theater system at no charge which is not on the contract. This consisted of a 10’long ceiling mounted screen with an outlet for remote,seven in wall mounted speakers and all wires ran in the walls,projector and hooking up all cables. When I informed this customer that we would not install his theater system for FREE because it is not on our contract,he told me he would not be paying my final payment unless I agreed to do these things at no cost. This customer came down stairs every day to say how great our work looked until he found out that we do not do work that we don’t get paid for. Our contracts strictly stipulates all work to be performed in a breakdown list item by item, read by and signed by the customer. With everything listed to be done in order. We take great pride in our work and go out of our way to make sure each job is done correctly. this is the second Customer in 34 years that I’ve had a problem with. My references speak for my integrity and our work shows it. these past two customers have gone on my website and given me reviews saying that you should get everything in writing on the contract. we completely agree that’s why we do a breakdown list. Have the customer look at it and then sign the contract that they agree upon.Anything that’s not on there is considered to be an extra. Like I said, we don’t mind doing little things for free because of the time that we have extra, to expect a contractor to put you in a $5000 theater system for free is absurd. We work hard to get paid and for this customer to not say one word about the beautiful basement that we finished and to only ridicule us because we won’t put his system in for free. I do not try to hide any reviews and I am glad that I get a chance to respond to them . God bless!😊
