Roger's Backyard Nursery

Roger's Backyard Nursery A large variety of shrubs, perennial plants, and flowers propagated and grown in my backyard. I start the plants and grow them so the costs are lower.

I propagate perennial plants, flowers and shrubs here in my backyard nursery. They are all grown here in our yard so they are used to our climate, not brought in from some other area or state. I am open to the public for retail sales. Most plants sell for the low price of $4.98. I also sell plants wholesale as rooted cuttings or liners.

HUGE Plant SALE!!!

May 30th from 9-5 and May 31st from 1-5

2,159 plants have gotta go, NOW!

JUST $7.98 each will get you most of what's here. Some are a bit more, a few are a bit less.

Plants are everywhere. No where to put the new stuff that needs potted up for later.

Cash or plastic accepted. We even accept checks!

Having a hard time seeing exactly what's here since I'm up to my 4 eyes in plants.

10393 Crane Street in downtown Cranesville, PA is where you'll find me, hopefully.

I may be wrapped up in some of my vining Honeysuckles or Amethyst Falls Wisterias. They are in bloom now. I'll point them out for you if you ask nicely.

New Blueberries, 6 or 7 different varieties are now here waiting for you to take them out of this crazy place.

Only a few Haskaps left. If you want them, ya better get here early!

Extra pretty Parrot Coneflowers just got here recently. Lots of flower buds showing. If you snooze...

Several new additions recently that you haven't seen yet. New plants as well as our replacement Shelterlogic greenhouse "tent". The last one got smashed when a tree fell on it.

Caramel and Citronelle Coral Bells can add a big splash of color in your yard.

Here's a really good one for ya. I just got in some young Bear's Breeches. I have no idea what breeches are but hey. These will grow up into a real show stopper of a plant. Huge flower spikes of flowers rise above the plant. If you're one of the many that live in deer country, this one may be the answer. The leaves are a bit spiny and deer really don't like getting poked by their dinner.

Hens and Chicks have hatched. Well I finally got to potting up a bunch of them. People have been asking so now they're here. They are a bit small but so is their price. $5.98 each or 6 for $30 while they last. You know they grow up in a hurry.

Still a bunch of Clematis biding their time here, just waiting for you to take 'em home.

Lots of pretty Hostas hiding under the benches.

Like Elderberries?? I've got the plain old one as well as several named varieties that are each special in their own way. Think BIGGER berries and MORE of them!

Oh yeah, there's still plenty of the regular stuff here. Several Weigela varieties, Spireas, Ninebarks, Hydrangeas, Spiderworts, Lungworts, Lillies, Day Lillies, Privets, and several other flowering plants.

Need some Arborvitaes?? There's still some here for ya. Can't say for how long tho'.

Some EXTRA SPECIAL Japanese Maples arrived earlier this week. These won't be here long, maybe not even through the weekend. Do you know someone that would love a Japanese Maple for their yard? Maybe Dad. You know that Father's Day is rapidly approaching. They start out at JUST $30!

Tulip trees are now available. First time out this year.

You are running out of time to get your tree-form Hydrangeas at the really, really low price of ONLY $12.98. Before long I'll be working on them and the price will go up. These are a canvas and you are the artist for growing them your way.

The weather should be nice but those yard chores can wait. You know you need some more plants for your yard. Take some time out, go for a pleasant little drive, buy some plants, and then enjoy the rest of the weekend.

10393 Crane Street in downtown Cranesville, PA. Don't know how to get there? Ask Google, they know us real well.

Saturday, May 30th, 9-5 and Sunday, May 31st, 1-5.

Bring all those empty plastic pots with you. We can put them to good use around here. The landfill can't use them, but we can!

I once again have 7 different varieties of Blueberry plants in stock. They probably won't be here for long so if this is what you have been hoping for, get 'em quick before they're gone again. At JUST $12.98 each, these 12 to 18 inch plants are a steal!

The weather man is calling for a bunch of rain on Saturday. We'll still be here in case you want to brave the rain. Been there, done that before.

Open hours on Saturday from 9-5 and Sunday from 1-5, after church. We are usually closed on Mondays and Tuesdays during the week, but since there's a big holiday this week, we'll be available on Monday from 10-4. So if you have the day off work and you just gotta have some plants, swing on by.

10393 Crane Street in downtown Cranesville, PA

Something else that hitched a ride with the Blueberry order was some more Haskaps. 2 different varieties, Indigo Gem and Indigo Treat, are here for a brief time. There aren't many left since some have already been bought. $14.98 each and they can be yours.

Lots of Elderberries here as well. Several named varieties available if you really want some special Elderberries. Some really produce large amounts of BIG berries, not those tiny ones on the "plain" version.

Jane Magnolias. I got a bunch of these fine ladies still waiting for a good home. You know that if you want to enjoy the early flowers of Magnolia, you need one for yourself. Plant one now and enjoy your own next year.

Something new this week. Tulip trees have finally decided it's time to start leafing out. I have several available that are about 2 feet tall and are JUST $19.98 each!

Still many, many perennials and flowering shrubs left. Most are ONLY $7.98 each!

Hydrangeas, Lillies, Day Lillies, Spiderworts, Coral Bells, Weigelas, Spireas, Leopard's Bane, Ninebarks, and the list goes on and on.

Stop on out either Saturday from 9-5, Sunday from1-5, or Monday from 10-4.

It's been a busy and hectic week so far so I'm going to keep this short and to the points.

First off, thanks to the many folks that have braved the cold and rain the last few weeks, the nursery is looking kinda picked over, actually quite picked over.

There are still lots of plants available but, you may have to look for your second or third favorite choices now. The #1 draft picks have found new homes.

Remember, NO annuals and NO veggie starts here!

Elderberries are back in stock now that I was able to promote many to the sales area. There's the plain ol' native one, $12.98, and about 5 or 6 extra special named varieties for JUST $14.98 each. You should see what they say about these named ones vs the native one!

Speaking of eating what you grow, I just got my shipment of Haskaps in today. By the looks of the way they were sorta in their pots, they left Michigan by covered wagon over some rough wagon trails. I got 'em all back into some brand new digs (pots) and they are ready to go. Cool thing is most of them have berries started.
They came straight from the factory already with berries. Well nursery, that is. Maybe you can have your cake and eat it too. If you want to see what Haskaps are and/or want to see the berries, you better get here early before they're all gone. This will be the last of them for this year. $14.98 each for your choice of Indigo gem or Indigo Treat.

A bunch of new Blueberries also came in today but they are still resting from the long trip from MI. You can ask when you come.

If you're looking for a flowering vine, there's still 3 flavors of Honeysuckle here. Major Wheeler in red, Mandarin in orange/yellow, and the Coral in, you know, coral. $7.98 and you can take one home before they really start driving me more bonkers with their twining around.

Several Clematis are available in purples, whites, red, and pink. Jackmanii, Cardinal Wyzsynski, Pink Champagne, ASAO, Multi-Blue, and...

Oh yeah, if you're wondering where all these goodies are located, they're sitting here at 10393 Crane Street in downtown Cranesville, PA.

They'll be available for purchase from 9-5 on Saturday, May 16th and 1-5 on Sunday, May 17th after church.

We can take paper money as well as plastic debit/credt cards. We even take personal checks.

One more thing before you go. There are still way, way too many Tiger Lily plants and Allegany Viburnums here. I want them thinned out because there are many more waiting to take their place in the spotlight. For this reason they are ONLY $5.98 each while they last.

Since the temps are supposed to be a bit warmer, you should be able to leave the winter coat at home this weekend. That gives you more flexability to handle more plants without tiring. Also easier to lug around the carts while you load 'em up.

I want to see y'all here this weekend.

10393 Crane Street, Cranesville, PA is where to aim your car, truck, or SUV thingy.

Clematis's arrived today. 64 of them in 12 different flavors. $9.98 each if you get them as is in the pots they arrived in. Save me the work and you some money. You know I'm extra lazy and don't really want to pot all these into a bigger pot.

Come out Saturday, May 9th from 9-5 or bring Mom on Sunday, Mother's Day, from 1-5.

10393 Crane Street in downtown Cranesville, PA is the address.

How about some name dropping. Asao, Jackmanii, H.F. Young, Cardinal Wyszynski, Huldine, Miss Bateman, Mrs. N. Thompson, Multi-Blue, Nelly Moser, Pink Champagne, and 2 others that you just gotta come see for yourself!

You can bring all those empty pots along with you also. I'll put them to good use again.

Thank you to all that braved the heat and bought plants. Somewhere else maybe, certainly not here! To all those that bundled up in winter garb to pick up some plants here over the weekend, especially Saturday, a very heartfelt thank you!! It takes a special kinda plant person to brave cold temps and even some snowflakes to come out here for some of my plants. That is what kept my hands from freezing. Thank you very much and I hope to see you again on a warmer day, soon I hope.
