Over the last few years, I’ve released a lot of different types of candles…some wooden wick, some specialty jars, some limited edition scents, some multi-packs.

Some of them were just plain old popular and ordered over and over each season.

Some people grew tired of the original mason jar offering and stopped reordering.

Some people grew frustrated with wooden wicks, which have their own learning curve for burning at home.

I’ve toyed with the idea of not selling candles anymore, but that was an unpopular choice amongst the customers I spoke to. So the decision is to pair back the offerings and have a more defined core line. There will still be some specialty scents seasonally and surely some special vessels, but not the original variety.

One other piece of feedback that I have heard is the desire for more wax melts and wickless candles. There are a lot of you out there who wish they could get an option to order a wax melt or wickless candle for any of the core scents available. I’m working on making this happen too.

Hopefully these changes will be positive and received well and we can all enjoy some upcoming Fall scents!

Happy Holidays! After tomorrow, Dec 13, the website will be closing for orders so we can provide delivery dates prior to Dec 24th (and hopefully spend a few quiet moments with friends and family ourselves!)

Shipping time is a little delayed with volume this time of year, so thank you in advance for your understanding. Please know that closing the website is the only way to ensure the orders received get processed in time for the holidays.

Many customers have asked if we will make dough bowl candles or candles with botanicals, such as lavender, dried fruit, or dried flowers, embedded. These candles are beautiful, and I love looking at them, but the answer is always no. I wanted to share some recent photos from a Reddit post that demonstrates why. This was a dough bowl candle that included botanicals. As you can see, it was a near disaster. A recent study from the National Candle Association found that botanical candles presented unacceptable fire risks. If you choose to burn these in your house, please keep a close eye on it and have appropriate safety precautions in place.

We’ve added some really special candles to the shop. These artisan candles are hand poured in beautiful in reusable stoneware vessel. The hand-thrown vessel is lead-free, environmentally friendly, and exceptionally durable. A potter in Wisconsin crafts each vessel by hand, finishes it with a beautiful glaze made from minerals from around the United States, and fires it at temperatures of up to 2370º resulting in a pieces that is unique and completely handmade. Because each vessel is individually made by hand, no two vessels will be exactly the same. It costs a little extra, but we think the beautiful artistry and craftsmanship is well worth it. Right now, we have two scents available. Mountain Pine in a gorgeous dark green vessel and Honeysuckle Grapefruit in a beautiful blue. Pick one up as a gift and one for yourself.
