Celebrating the life of our Amy. There are no words for the loss of just the sweetest, most wonderful soul. Today, we celebrated her, and her son Alex’s success together. Amy was our beautiful Cap’n at CertaPro Painters of McHenry, IL; she IS… the heart. The Flight Group for CertaPro that Jeff is a part of, remade and retired Amy’s jersey from our ‘Team Amy’ with a beautiful tribute and showcasing ”the hook” or the captain “C” that she proudly displayed. Jeff wore her jersey today, (until it was 85 degrees out), but then sported just a good ol’ fashioned plain and classic, grey Mickey Mouse t-shirt. This would make Amy just gush with happiness. We had a toast with her most favorite Red Sparkling Wine from Jeff & Amy’s Wine Country Trip in California that we called “Champagne” because… we can! Damnit! To celebrate Alex’s accomplishments, we toasted with Don Julio’s Tequila, Amy’s favorite. As sad of a day due to the circumstances, it was a great day. Family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, all coming together to celebrate someone who touched so many lives. I think it’s pretty obvious, Amy is still with us in so many ways. She will always love and be in our hearts. Always. Go Amy!

Yesterday, one of the most beautiful souls ever to walk this Earth, left to spread her wings as an elegant Angel. Amy was a remarkable person, touching the hearts of so many people she met. Kind, loving, and courageous! And tough! Amy had the inner strength to fight that we could never understand. Yet, she was poised and strong and never let you believe for one second that anything was wrong. She could light up a room with her presence. She instilled grace and dignity, and had a passion for life itself (even when she would show off her “Inner Geek” side, dressing the part for Disney, a holiday, or… Harry Potter). So many times, when Amy was asked how she was doing, it was usually a reassuring “I’m ok. I have a lot of life to live. I still have a lot to do!” Those precious moments were given to those that meant the most to her… her husband Jeff, son Alex, and her close knit friends and family. Because of Amy, I was fortunate enough to fall into that group. Nobody… had a bigger heart. She loved and adored Jeff so much; it warmed my heart to see such a true love affair. When she talked about Alex, or if he walked into the room, Amy would just glow. Amy’s World! That’s where she was happiest. Please keep them in your prayers and in your thoughts. My heart is truly heartbroken. Jeff hired me to come work for them at CertaPro Painters of McHenry, IL after I retired from Sherwin Williams. He shared his vision for his business, and the foreseeable future with Amy. Amy was the big focal point, I wanted to be a part of it. Amy and I developed a tight bond in a very short time. She was amused by my goofiness. (And my continued needling of Jeff… for OUR amusement). Yet, was sensitive to my own fights and worries that I outlined; we both expressed to each other what troubled us, and how we battle through. Amy welcomed me into the family. I’ve cherished every moment of it. Amy got me! She is one of a few handful of people that understand me. Unconditional, and without judgement. It was always greatly appreciated and brought me peace. Team Amy lost it’s Cap’n, but she is always with us forever. The #6 will be retired, with the “hook” so proudly affixed. There can never be another Captain for Team Amy. There can never be another Amy. Amy… you are so loved and will be so missed. - Love, Richie

Just the two “New Guys” (Skripper Bob and Richie Jackowski) who happen to be the “Old Guys” are painting a fence today. We cracked up when we both showed up in painters overalls. All day we heard “Hey! It’s Mario and Luigi!” No magic mushrooms though. Oh… and Tasty Freeze for our efforts!
