This commissioned pet portrait was an experiment that I absolutely fell in love with! I’ve seen so many artists start with a magenta or some sort of red/pink wash to tone a painting and I have to say I’m hooked! It may not be my permanent style but it got me experimenting with color and values more!

Hi there! My name’s Kenna and I started painting back in February of 2023 so I’m almost coming up on a year of practicing this beautiful form of self expression. Painting has helped me to learn to see the world differently. I promised myself I’d practice art like I would a sport or learning a language; consistent repetitions and continually being open to branching out to learn new things. My art career began as a meditation, a journaling practice of sorts. I had been documenting my progress on my personal instagram throughout 2023 and kept receiving so many supportive messages from friends and family cheering me on and their love inspired me to make an art-specific page to share my progress with the rest of the world. I can’t thank everyone enough for the kind things you’ve said, the pieces you’ve commissioned me to do for you, and the constructive feedback on the personal pieces I’ve worked on. Here’s to 2024 and the growth that comes with commitment and perseverance! 🥂

I can’t thank my boss Jennessa enough for the opportunity to work in such a healthy, loving environment. I wanted to commemorate our place of work with our logo behind it because it’s been a physical representation of the unconditional love and healing I’ve experienced since moving here. I spent a lot of time planning and creating this piece and I’m really glad she loved it 🥰
