I started my maternity leave early since I work with a high risk Covid-19 population (nursing home). I’m grateful that I’m close enough to the finish line to do this. 5 weeks to go.

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.

I’m at the point where consecutive 10-hour construction projects are no longer an option. BUT this extra time has give me the chance to try a few new things.

Last week I finally tried the circular saw my Dad gave me for Christmas. And this week I’m making a slip over for an ugly nursery rocker. Guys, it’s SO hard. I’m getting better but it’s not a quick gratification kind of project. Here’s where I’m at so far:

I also recovered a pillow, gonna stencil a wall, and making a wood sign using a projector. Nothing like a few last minute projects!

A Top Shelf reader emailed me a few months ago asking for suggestions to update her living room. I was a ditz and only responded the other day suggesting picture frame molding. Turns out she was one step ahead of me.

Check out her "Before" and "After" shots! She added crown, trim, and wainscoting. Just goes to show that you don't need a huge space to really blow people away. This lovely DIY'er lives in Ireland.
