Mac Design Partners is a family business started by husband and wife Jason and Shelly McConnell who can build and design almost anything respectively. It has progressed into a partnership of talented artisans that are passionate for the design, fabrication, and ex*****on of their customers' dreams. pairs to custom designed cabinetry, kitchens, treehouses, bathrooms, and furniture. Mac Design Partners was originally started in 2002 and has served customers in the Atlanta area for almost fifteen years. Jason McConnell could build you an entire house if you wanted, making your space perfectly how you wanted it and his wife Shelly could paint every room in the house for you just the way you want it. She has experience in faux finish, interior and exterior, as well as simple and intricate designs.

We came to know these customers after building a cypress deck for their son. They bought a 30 year old house that was dark and cramped, with the desire for us to make it open, functional, and welcoming. We removed all of the load bearing walls from the common areas which allowed us to install LVLs, raise the ceilings, and open the space up. To finish the beams out we milled white oak and covered them with this white oak. We even made custom cabinetry in the kitchen and pantry to finish out the common areas.
In the private areas, we vaulted the master bedroom ceiling to continue the wood accents throughout the house. Their bathroom was finished with accessibility in mind and has a gorgeous curbless shower with a rain hat and shower handle.
We have touched every bit of this house from its foundation to its gutters and created this magnificent home for the owners. Be sure to look out for before and during construction pictures that will get added to the album!

Here’s some more of the interior spaces from the client in our last post’s house. Over the years, and while doing that addition on her house, we freshened up the mud room, a couple of bathrooms, and made the living room more functional! A long time customer wanted us to build an addition on her house to make a gathering space that had the beauty of the outdoors mixed with the comfort of the indoors. To answer this call we removed her existing deck and built a sunroom with vaulted ceilings and custom woodwork throughout, with many functional windows. Connected to this space we built our customer a new deck that connects to a beautiful covered patio, perfect for fall evening parties that will end at the fire pit. When we say the sky’s the limit for matching our customer’s dreams, sometimes what we really mean is that the ceiling just has limitless potential. Our customer wanted to take their 1950s textured ceiling into a vaulted masterpiece, and we think we executed it perfectly with tongue and groove red oak finished in a hand blended stain. She wanted to ensure there were no visible seams along the ceiling to create length and continuity, and so we answered by adding in matching beams throughout. The final product has encapsulated the elegant and timeless look this family was trying to achieve and is certainly an eye catching statement piece for their living space.

This customer of ours requested a custom, swanky wine bar in time for the Superbowl this year. We got busy doing what we do best and designed a space that would compliment his existing billiards room while elevating the space. The bold, dark color - In The Navy, by Portola Paints - on the walls provides a late night vibe any time of day, while the soft finish of the Roman clay makes it welcoming for whenever. Finished with a custom poplar bar top and coordinating, hand milled maple wine racks and shelves, this bar will have you dreading last call!
