This is why layout matters more than finishes…

Most people focus on tile, colors, and fixtures—but the biggest difference in this bathroom had nothing to do with that.

The original layout didn’t work.
The toilet was in the middle of the room, the space felt tight, and it just wasn’t functional.

We reworked the layout, relocated plumbing, and opened everything up—and that’s what completely changed how this bathroom lives.

The finishes made it look good…
but the layout is what made it work.

If your bathroom feels cramped or awkward, it’s probably not the materials—it’s the layout.

This doesn’t even feel like the same bathroom…

This Ball Ground home started as a tight, outdated space with a layout that just didn’t work—
including a toilet sitting right in the middle of the room.

We completely reworked the layout, relocated plumbing, and opened everything up to make the space actually functional.

The bulky tub/shower combo is gone, replaced with a clean walk-in shower and a freestanding tub.
A new vanity, updated lighting, and better use of space brought everything together.

Now it feels bigger, brighter, and designed for how this homeowner lives every day.

And behind the scenes… everything is built the right way with a fully waterproofed system. No shortcuts.

70’s ranch… and this bathroom was still living in it.

Tight layout, bulky tub, and that divider wall cutting the whole space in half.

It felt closed in, dark, and honestly smaller than it actually is.

But small spaces deserve to be just as beautiful and functional as the rest of the home.

We had a plan for this one… 👀

✨ Merry Christmas! ✨

Today isn’t about gifts, decorations, or the noise of the season.
Today is about a promise —
the greatest one ever given.

A Savior stepped into our world,

In the middle of our busy lives,
our messy lives,
our joyful and hard and ordinary lives—
Christmas reminds us we are loved more deeply than we can ever understand.

So today we pause.
We breathe.
We open our hearts with gratitude.

For grace.
For peace.
For the Light that still shines in the darkest places.

🎄 A Boyd’s Tile & Renovations Christmas Eve Story 🎄

It was Christmas Eve, and for the first time all year…
Marcus wasn’t knee-deep in thinset,
balanced on a bucket,
or trying to convince a shower niche to “sit still for two seconds.”

And Stacy—
for the first time all year—
wasn’t speed-walking through Floor & Decor like she owned the place,
hauling 200 lbs of tile samples like emotional support luggage,
arguing with paint swatches that “all claim to be white but ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT THE SAME,”
or chasing Marcus across Forsyth County
as he zig-zagged from job to job like a caffeinated squirrel with a trowel.

For one rare, peaceful night,
they actually put down the samples, the measuring tape,
and the emotional support coffee…
and picked up hot cocoa like two people who didn’t just remodel half of Forsyth County. 😂

And honestly? They earned it.

Because this year… THIS YEAR…
Boyd’s Tile & Renovations went to battle.

Bathrooms?
We did them all.
Tiny bathrooms, giant bathrooms, divided bathrooms,
bathrooms with eight windows for no reason,
and bathrooms that needed therapy more than they needed tile.

Marcus laid tile so straight it made the laser level blush.

And Stacy kept everyone sane, stylish, and on schedule
(which might actually be the greatest Christmas miracle of all).

Then came the basements —
basements that were DONE being “storage rooms for things we swear we’ll use again.”
We finished them into cozy dens, game rooms, second living spaces,
and at least one “retreat from my children.”
Glowing transformations that made homeowners cry happy tears
(and made Marcus’ knees file HR complaints).

And the kitchens?
Oh, the kitchens put up a fight.
But we updated them, brightened them, modernized them,
and turned “before pictures” into “I LIVE HERE NOW” moments.

Through every project — bathrooms, basements, kitchens —
you trusted Stacy and Marcus with your homes, your ideas,
your “Is this crazy?” questions (usually yes),
and all the dreams you saved Pinterest boards for.

So tonight, on Christmas Eve,
we just want to say thank you.

Thank you for the laughs,
the loyalty,
the referrals,
the cookies (keep those coming),
and for letting our family work on spaces your family calls home.
