We have been working hard, trying to get everything together!!!
( we’ve had a few setbacks)

Our store hours will be:

Wednesday through Saturday
9 AM to 2 PM
Opening day, June 10 !!!

We had a Hay Day yesterday!! I haven’t  next had a hay day in years. It felt good to throw some bales.

We are a little bit excited here at the Homestead!!!

We do a walk each and every morning, to see what’s happening discuss what needs to be done and brainstorm.
PS.. we can use the exercise as well.

Anyway, all of our plants in our deep winter our greenhouse are doing great ! This Sunday or Monday we are going to start transplanting them to our high tunnels. We do have carrots, radishes, and flowers already planted in two of the 3 tunnels . As well, I am going to try to steal some time to organize the farm store. 

Our fruit trees are producing. The first year for fruit. The plums and cherries and blackberry bushes are thriving. We have crossed our fingers for the apples trees. We hope this is the year to see some apples.

We laugh at the deer here, we have about 3+ feet in between to of the high tunnels and those deer love going between there and they really get mad if we put anything there or block their access, lazy little creatures. We do have chicken wire on both sides of all of our high tunnels so the little critters can’t get in and get all the Yummies.

Unfortunately, we have to move the Store opening to June 10

Will not be opening this week on the 20th. We will be opening June 10 for the season.

Just a brief update on what’s going on at the Homestead.

A greenhouse is thriving. Had to make some heat adjustments, but that’s going well. We moved out the Farm store put in a vegetable processing shed. Where we will be processing the vegetables that are going to be coming out of the high tunnels. As well as a potting tool shed.
Being out of state for a couple days we will get our high tunnels finished and planted this weekend. Gary has been working very hard trying to finish all of his gardening tasks. I am very happy to have him in my world indeed!
I did get to get my hands and some Arizona soil why I was visiting..
