Is your school or community garden project in need of seeds? Baker Creek welcomes requests from registered nonprofit organizations, schools, and qualified garden education programs! Each donation bag contains between 35 to 75 packs of varieties of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Please note that we have a finite supply of donation seeds, and each organization is limited to one request each calendar year. We look forward to supporting your garden projects! My blank canvas is ready to grow! Spent the last few seasons asleep and now it's time. Onions are in, potatoes next. My new weeping rosebud that was planted in the fall is hanging in there, branches feel pliable but strong. First timer so I'm nervous with her!

The "pink party lights" (as my daughter calls them) are on and we're having a start party! Tomatoes and greens going strong. Peppers taking their time, per usual.

Hi everyone, it's been a while due to life... but I'm back! And wow, it feels great. Nothing like some plant therapy to start the new year.

My seed babies include greens, tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, and brussel sprouts.

Anyone ever thing to use the invasive for something? This wasn't interesting little read!

Sara Byrd gets creative when removing invasives from her property. In her words: "I began to use the removed plants to create trellises for my native vines. Eventually, the idea was broadened to creating art like baskets, bird houses, wall hangings, and decorative fences.
Some of my favorite non-native plants to use are English Ivy, Asian Wisteria, Chinese Privet, Crape Myrtle, Nandina, Tree of Heaven, and especially Kudzu. I love the idea of fully compostable art and want to encourage others to remove non-native and invasive plants and get in touch with their creative side. The possibilities are endless. Just make sure you wear your gloves."

I wrote the curriculum for design management at UNT and this is an excellent example of the types of companies our students strived to create during the program.

They were asked to develop a business plan and brand identity for a new company that not only has a sellable idea but one that also helps address a wicked problem. Wicked problems, being major unsolvable issues that can be made manageable with careful planning and consideration.

The company below provides professional landscaping for corporate campuses while at the same time creating and maintaining an environment for an onsite bee colony. They thought of many details, from plantable wayfinding that keeps patrons away from the bees and vice versa to social media interactivity to help bring awareness to both parties and others who follow.

Check out this TEXAS-based company!
