When Rufy Garcia’s father first gifted her two plants 🎍, she had no idea that this would inspire her to launch a plant shop with her sister, Twiggy. Together, they started Raíz Plant Studio, the first Latina-owned plant shop in Dallas.
Rufy and Twiggy wanted to create a welcoming space where people could relax while learning about plants. When the pandemic led to a lockdown, they had to make tough decisions.
Instead of closing up shop, the Garcia sisters tried doing pop-up shops. To their surprise, they attracted plant lovers from all over the city and were able to share their passion for plants. Now, they sell plants, merch, terrarium kits and more!
