Options bring clarity any project. For this new hall bath redo, I qualify the customer's style and budget and assess their home's surrounding to blend colors and mood. Then, I provide three design options and one "out of the box" whimpsy. I use Ai to give a glimpse preview of each. This fun new client couple decided to go for "whimsy," and I'm so excited to get their project moving forward.

Dated kitchens don't always require a full gut, especially if the cabinetry is superbly constructed.

Our redo in this upscale Willow Bend neighborhood focuses on improving functionality and resale value. The kitchen is somewhat small for the scale of the home, but by updating textiles and workflow, this same kitchen will produce a wow factor upon entry that will add value and owner enjoyment to the home. Our first focus is prepping electrical, plumbing, and cabinetry to receive all new Wolf appliances with the focal point on a beautiful duel-fuel convection professional range.

Are tubs essential in a primary master bathroom? What's your vote? I look forward to your comments.

As a designer, I love tubs and embrace the opportunity to include one in each bathroom. However, functionality is priority over tradition. So I always ask first, "Do you use the tub?"

Many bathroom redo's have approached me with expectations of enlarging their showers while accommodating their old tubs. But if there's no added real estate in the bathroom's footprint, why go through the pain and expense of tub relocations if the tub is never used? A larger shower will provide more enjoyment and yes, RESALE VALUE, when functionality joins luxury offering an aesthetically pleasing primary retreat.

The RULE OF THUMB: as long as a tub exists elsewhere in the home in secondary bathroom where kids and pets can bathe, renovation $$$ are best spent on accommodating a large functional and luxurious shower not shared with an expensive tub that wastes space.
