Another great year at Track Days!

We sent Jenna Fitzgerald Higginbotham out to Colorado this year, joining hospitality industry leaders for a weekend built around driving, connection, and community. Between laps, the group came together to pack personal hygiene products for those in need.

Our Chicago studio had the pleasure of supporting for their Q1 GiveBack earlier this year. The team spent the day rolling up their sleeves for everything from pantry organization and supply runs to painting and carpet installation.

Last week the Looney & Associates Dallas team did happy hour the right way. Three stops, two hours, one very good evening.

Written by the Seasons for welcome drinks at a Michelin-recognized spot, then Domodomo Ko for creative cocktails and high energy, then Two Hands to wrap up with Australian-inspired bites and a more relaxed vibe. All of it at The Quad, one of Dallas's newest food and beverage destinations.

Part team night out. Part staying connected to the cities we design for.

Every detail of JW Marriott Detroit Water Square was built around a single idea: that the hotel should feel like Detroit. Not a reference to it. An expression of it.

Our Founder & CEO, Jim Looney, put it simply: "We didn't just land in Detroit and look at architecture. We got to meet people and really be immersed in a personal way."

Established in 2011, the James D. Looney Scholarship supports fourth-year architecture students at the Faye Jones School of Architecture and Design, University of Arkansas, as they prepare for a semester abroad in Rome, an experience that expands design thinking through global exposure.

Now in its 16th year, the award has helped 17 students pursue international learning and return with a broader worldview. For many, it is their first time abroad.

We are honored to share that Ga***rd Hotels Pacific Resort and Convention Center has been named a finalist in the Art: Individual Piece category at the 22nd annual Hospitality Design Awards.

The installation at the center of this recognition, "Breaching and Diving," is a pair of life-size humpback whales suspended 40 feet above the convention center walkway, composed of thousands of translucent acrylic rods. Designed as a visual landmark, the piece integrates large-scale aesthetics, seismic engineering, lighting design, and long-term durability into a single cohesive statement.

This work came together through the vision and craft of our colleagues Local Language alongside the full project team. We're proud of what this group built together.
