Elaine Whitfield Design - Bio

A passion for interior design was instilled in me from a very young age. My parents allowed and encouraged me to express my creativity by choosing linens, curtains, floor covering, and chandeliers for my bedroom despite the fact that I was only in primary school.... At the tender age of 21 I had my first project and realized that I had found my passion. I was involve

d in overseeing the drafting of plans and building of a 6000 sq. I selected beautiful tiles and bathroom fixtures, built a walk-in closet and designed many of the custom- made finishes. I have spent the past 10 years in Residential Real Estate in Dallas, Texas USA, where I was fortunate to not only see unique homes that were exquisitely decorated, but to assist with the selection of finishes when my clients wanted to remodel their properties or sell them. I selected, bespoke décor that enhanced the architecture and design of the residences working on high rise apartments, penthouses and single family homes in gated communities, and stunning estates. Interior design is a group of various yet related projects that involve turning an interior space into an "effective setting for the range of human activities" that are to take place there. As an interior designer I coordinate and manage such projects. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that includes conceptual development, communication, management and execution of the design. One's home is a place to escape the hustle and bustle of life and there should always be a balance between comfort and luxury and ultimately an expression of your unique style ! "Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury."
