Since there were not enough cool nights to kill mosquito eggs and larva, a bat house is a pretty darn good idea. Mosquitoes are most active after sunset. If you want to rid your yard of mosquitoes, put up a bat roosting box. One bat can eat thousands of mosquitoes a night. One 2-chamber bat house can house approximately 100 bats. That's a lot of mosquito-munching.

Carpenter bees can be destructive insects that tunnel into wood so the queen can lay her eggs. Each year carpenter bees will return to the same holes they were born in to tunnel deeper and create new holes. As a result, even greater amounts of eggs are laid while greater damage is done to the wood structure. If left unchecked, this tunneling can severely weaken the structure of a building.
