TBT 2011…MY FIRST PAID STAGING JOB! This is my first paid staging job, not 1st staging job…but first one I was paid for!…In the end the $2000 I was paid went straight to expenses.

In the beginning of my staging career I used my own personal furniture, borrowed furniture & art from friends and constantly thrift store shopped!…I was Home Depot’s #1 spray paint client. 😉
I remember my mom helping me…A LOT…sewing curtains for projects on my dining table…I had great family support from many ppl.
I did many jobs starting out for free, just to get my foot in the door & have my worked photographed…
I didn’t care…I just wanted to create. This project probably took me about 10 days & many tears to complete…I had so much to learn! Now this job can be done in about 5-6 hrs start to finish.
It took me a while to be profitable. The first couple years was just paying bills and mostly buying inventory.
Now, I own ALL my STAGING inventory, I have 3 warehouse spaces, & I am sole owner of my company with no investors, partners or debt.💪🏼

I am terribly proud when I see these photos. 😊It takes courage and fearlessness to start a business. Fake it till you make it! They always say. It takes a lot of confidence & self belief in your talent & abilities when you put anything you create out in public where it can be judged by others.
I truly LOVE what I get to do every day!
My “career” brings me so much joy… & is a new challenge everyday…I am SO THANKFUL for all of my clients & the cool & unique projects I’m involved in…& those to come!❤️Lisa
