Some days, homesteading feels like a dream come true. Fresh eggs, garden harvests, baby animals, family memories… the kind of moments you all usually see on camera. ❤️

But behind the videos and smiles, there are also really hard days.

This week, we had to say goodbye to our old German Shepherd, Rocky. He wasn’t “just a dog.” He grew up alongside our family, watched over the children, guarded the farm, and was part of the rhythm of our everyday life for years.

One of the strangest parts of being content creators is that sometimes life completely falls apart… and you still hit record. You still smile for the camera. You still try to show up.

Homesteading isn’t always picturesque sunsets and cute animals. Sometimes it’s heartbreak. Sometimes it’s exhaustion. Sometimes it’s making painful decisions because it’s the kindest thing you can do for an animal you love deeply.

Right now, the farm chores still need done. Animals still need fed. Gardens still need watered. Life keeps moving, even when your heart feels heavy.

We know many of you have walked through losing a beloved farm dog or pet too, and if you have, you understand how quiet everything suddenly feels afterward.

Thank you all for being here with our family through the joyful seasons and the painful ones too. ❤️
